Refinishing Old Pine
Roll-top Desk
I bought this wonderful
old pine roll-top desk at a garage sale I have always wanted one and now I
finally own one. Of course the one that
I pictured in my mind was not all worn and faded with age as this one is but underneath
the wear and tear I could see the beauty buried deep beneath it. I wanted to refinish it myself but I had
never taken on any type of refinishing job in my life this is not my area of
expertise. I decided I would do some
research and find out about the chemicals that I would have to work with to do
this project. I wanted to find a on the types of chemicals that I would need to use to refinish my
desk. I would be using a wood stripper
that I would use to take the old stain off the wood. I was hoping to try and find a msds online somewhere that I could use to help guide me in finding the right type of wood
stripper to get this job done with.
I really have no
experience in working with these types of chemicals so I thought it would be a
good idea to get a hold of a MSDS Database and learn more about the
chemicals that I would be working with during this refinishing project. I like to study things and get to know what I
am dealing with before jumping in with no knowledge of what I am actually
dealing with. Hopefully I can find a free
MSDS that can help give me proper guidance on how to handle the types of
chemicals that I need to use in refinishing this old desk. I want to learn how to do the job in the
safest manner and know exactly what I should and shouldn't do when handling
these kinds of chemicals.
By reading the
information that an MSDS Database will offer it will help to make sure
that I do not use these chemicals in an unsafe manner. I hope that I can find a free MSDS; I
should try asking around and find out if any friends or family know of where I
can get a free MSDS from. I would
really feel better if I had a MSDS Database for the chemicals that I
need to use to do my refinishing job. I
would really love to find a free MSDS but if I can't manage to find a
free one I would be willing to pay for a MSDS Database if it meant that
I would be getting safe and proper instructions of how to handle the chemicals
that I will need to use to refinish my beloved old writing desk. I do not want to mess this job up I want to
do it right and use the proper chemicals to do the job properly having either a
free MSDS or a MSDS Database that I have to pay for to help to
guide me in the right direction in handling these chemicals safely and getting
the job done properly.
